How to use the cybercrime portal well.
Four short notes from people who have helped survivors file before.
- 1
Open the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal at cybercrime.gov.in and choose the women-and-child path if it applies to your situation.
- 2
Describe the incident clearly. Include when you first discovered the content, which platforms it appeared on, and any usernames or links you have.
- 3
Do not upload intimate images. Only attach material where the portal explicitly asks for it, such as screenshots of the post or account.
- 4
Once submitted, save your acknowledgement number. You can use it to follow up with cybercrime.gov.in or your local police station.
When you are ready, Asmita is here.
You can use any of the resources above without ever creating an Asmita case. None of them require it.
