How it works

Six steps. One screen at a time.

Each step happens on its own page. Nothing demands more than one decision from you at a time.

The flow
  1. 01

    Confirm safety.

Age attestation comes first. Adults continue privately. If you are under 18, Asmita does not collect URLs - it routes you to CHILDLINE 1098, TakeItDown, and cybercrime.gov.in with guided instructions.

  2. 02

    Paste links as text.

Asmita reads only the domain string from each URL to route the notice to the right platform. The link itself never reaches the server, and no one at Asmita or the grievance officer can access or view the content it points to. Up to ten URLs every twenty-four hours.

  3. 03

Fingerprint the image, not the image itself.

If you choose to submit a hash, a perceptual fingerprint is computed entirely on your device. A 64-character code is what leaves your browser - the original image never touches the server, and neither Asmita nor any grievance officer can reconstruct or view it from that code. The fingerprint is shared with platforms that support proactive blocking so they can detect and prevent re-uploads.

  4. 04

    Reviewed notices go out.

Platform contacts are human-verified before they enter the routing table. You approve every notice before it is sent. When a notice is dispatched, the grievance officer receives a secure link protected by a one-time password. The link burns after it is opened once and cannot be revisited.

  5. 05

Submit the form yourself, with everything ready.

For platforms with no grievance officer contact, Asmita prepares a step-by-step handoff. The notice text, your PDQ fingerprint if applicable, and the exact form URL are all ready. You paste, submit, and Asmita logs it.

  6. 06

    Track and escalate.

A private dashboard shows each platform, the response window, and an audit trail. If a platform doesn't respond within the legal window, escalation is automatic.

Notice routing

Three ways a notice reaches the platform.

Different platforms accept notices differently. Asmita uses the most reliable channel that exists - and never guesses when one doesn't.

Tier 01

Grievance Officer email

For Indian intermediaries covered by IT Rules 2021, Asmita sends a templated email to the platform's designated Grievance Officer. This is the path most notices take.

Tier 02

Guided form handoff

When a platform has no published contact, Asmita does not guess. It prepares a step-by-step handoff so you can submit through their web form yourself, with the notice text ready to paste.

Tier 03

Direct API (coming soon)

For platforms that publish a verified takedown endpoint, Asmita will submit the notice through the API and wait on the structured response.

Escalation

When platforms don't respond.

The escalation timeline is automatic. You never have to chase a platform manually - but you can stop the clock at any time.

24h

Notice sent.

First notice goes out the moment you approve it. The 24-hour clock under IT Rules begins.

48h

First escalation.

If there is no response, Asmita escalates to the next contact tier and re-sends automatically.

7 days

FIR package ready.

If 7 days pass without resolution, Asmita prepares a police-ready FIR package for cybercrime.gov.in from the same evidence trail.

Ready to begin?

There is no clock running. You can start, stop, and come back.
